Trigger Points
Back to treatmentsTrigger points, defined as “extremely irritable and painful localized areas in a lump of muscle tissue referred to by the patient as pressure-evoked pain”, are present in different parts of the body and are capable of evoking intense pain on simple acupressure. Already described at the beginning of the last century, these are areas where muscle excitability is significantly increased due to irritation of the afferent nerve branch. The infiltration of the mixture containing ozone at medium-low concentrations (8-12 µg / ml O3 / O2) in these points with small mesotherapy needles, is able to reduce pain significantly, sometimes until its definitive disappearance.
